Before becoming a ranger, Max was training to become an amateur bowler being trained by Don. One night, Max saw an Org attacking two girls. Max tried to help them but was overpowered by the Org. Taylor and Alyssa, already rangers, helped Max out. They saw something in Max glow and they found out he was a ranger. When he found out, Max had to temporarily stop his career as a bowler.

Max is good friends with Danny, and once saved him once when Danny didn't leap far enough from one building to another. He also believed once about a legend of Turtle Lake that a message put in a bottle, thrown in a lake, will make any wish come true. He wished to be treated more grown up.

Max's weapon is the Shark Fins and has a Savage Cycle. His animal crystals are the shark and giraffe. The giraffe was recieved when Max was presented with the Spear of Pardolas.
