Moltor is the brother of Flurious. Of the two Moltor is the better warrior. He and his brother attempted to steal the Corona Aurora many years ago on another side of the universe. They both ended up failing because they were overpowered by the crown. As a result, the crown turned him and his brother into monsters based on their element (fire for Moltor and ice for Flurious) and were sent off to separate distant planets.
When Andrew Hortford acquired the Corona Aurora, Moltor immediately sent his army of Lava Lizards to Earth in-order to acquire the crown. After a surprise attack the Lava Lizards were able to acquire the Corona Aurora but it was fake. Moltor was able to acquire the real Corona Aurora from Andrew Hortford on a raid from his mansion shortly after. He also kidnapped Andrew. Later on he tried throwing Andrew into a lava pit for refusing to help him find the five jewels but failed to do so when Dax arrived and saved Andrew.
Although his primary mission is to find the Corona Aurora jewels, he once tried to use a weather machine to freeze the world to show up Flurious. He set out and stole a sub-atomic energy generator to power the device but the machine ended up going out of control and was later destroyed by the Drivemax Megazord. His brother mocked him afterwards telling him he can't mix alien technology with human technology.
He once teamed with his brother in fighting the Rangers and successfully captured the Drivemax Megazord and Mack by building two powerful robots. The plan ended up failing because of their differences and Moltor's robots ended up being destroyed.
Moltor and his brother have fought each other on several occasions based on their ongoing rivalry, mainly after failures in acquiring scrolls or jewels. Yet, he often communicates with his brother either by discussing or mocking each other's progress in finding the jewels and scrolls. Some time ago he also fought Tyzonne for refusing to join his army. He ended up turning him into a monster and told him he would change him back to his human form if he would acquire the Torro Diamond of the Corona Aurora. Tyzonne decided not to pursue his request and quit Moltor's army.
