Tyzonn is the 6th member of the Operation Overdrive team. Tyzonn was part of an elite intergalactic search and rescue team. He came to Earth many years ago to seek revenge on the Fearcats whom he sent his team into a cave thinking they were still trapped inside. The Fearcats were not in that cave and Tyzonn ended up losing his team when they barracaded the entrance to the cave. He journeyed to Earth seeking the Fearcats but ended up confronting Moltor. After a short battle he was transformed into a reptile after refusing to join Moltor. In order to be turned back he had to find one of the scrolls for the jewels for Moltor. He succeeded by stealing part of the scroll from the Rangers' while they were decyphering it at a university but upon finding out Moltor's intentions of using the Corona Aurora for harm, he gave his part of it back to Mack.
Tyzonn eventually turned back into his normal self with the power of the jewels, but would not join the Rangers because of his quest to defeat the Fearcats. The Rangers' and Tyzonn's paths would meet again when the Fearcats attacked an archaeological site. Tyzonn became critically injured splitting him into his Mercurian form after a fierce attack from the Fearcats. The Rangers' enclosed him in a jar and brought him back to their base, and Andrew Hortford was able to put him back into human form by using a metal stablizer used to fabricate their Zords while the Rangers defeated the Fearcats. After recouping Tyzonn explained why to the Rangers why he wouldn't join them telling his story about his rescue team and the Fearcats.
Ronnie gave Tyzonn a motivational talk which eventually got through to him. When the Rangers were in trouble fighting the revived and strengthened Fearcats, Tyzonn appeared in an Operation Overdrive uniform and his Mercury Morpher.
Uninterested at first in joining the team, he soon realized what perks he would recieve in being a Ranger and immediately demanded his own Zords, which he got. He was given command of the Fire Rescue Zord, and Rescue Runners 1 and 2.
