The Storm Megazord is comprised of three zords, the Dolphin Zord, the Lion Zord, and the Hawk Zord. The Lion Zord makes up most of the body, including an arm. The Hawk Zord makes up the head, and the Dolphin Zord is used as the Storm Megazord's left arm.
To gain weapons, the Rangers use a unique system called the Power Spheres. Cam usually sends the Rangers power discs whenever they call for them. When the discs arrive in their cockpits, each Ranger inserts the metal disc into the sphere drive on their control panels. Then, the Ranger opens a compartment revealing a handle. That handle is pulled out, then turned in-order to drop the disc. Three balls of energy then go through the Megazord to its chest, where the Power Sphere is released by a door, and turned into its weapon.
The Storm Megazord can pull two chains from its dolphin arm and lion arm called Dolphin Blast and Blizzard Fury. Dolphin Blast aims the dolphin arm's mouth at the target and fires a sea of energy at the target. Blizzard Fury is an attack where the Storm Megazord's left shoulder faces the enemy, and the lion head fires ice bullets at its target.
The Dolphin Zord can be disattached and replaced with the Samurai Star zord on the right side (in helicopter form). The Megazord can perform a powerful attack with the new arm. The Samurai Star's propellors turn at full speed and the thrusters on the end fire a huge blast of energy at the target, in a background of green fire.
In cases where an enemy is too quick, another mode is the Storm Megazord Lightning Mode introduced in "Beauty and the Beach".
