How did 1RANGER.com originally start?

1RANGER.com started in November of 1998 by me, Tim Johnson. Power Rangers In Space was winding down, but the site was there so I could address so rumors, like the identity of the Phantom Ranger and the rumors of a new cast for Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Then, I decided to become sort of a "database", adding an episode guide, megazord profiles, ranger profiles, etc. Then I started calling it The Power Rangers In Space Datafiles. Each series that came after that, was under the "Datafiles" name. In mid-2000, I decided to switch the name "Datafiles" to just "Power Rangers 2K". Each year, I have to add another number to get the year right. During this whole time, I have done everything you see on the site (with the exception of some pictures, and the layout). Changing our name everyday was a pain, so we decided to change the name to "1RANGER.com". Looks a little more professional than "Power Rangers 2000" (at least after a few years of that IMO).

Are you affiliated with Disney? Actors? Anyone?

1RANGER.com is not affiliated with anyone, except our partner site Power Rangers Network. The thoughts, words, rumors, and news have no reflection on whoever runs or makes Power Rangers.

How can you do this all yourself

Because I have no life.

Why do you have ads? You are the only site that has ads.

Well, when I registered the domain powerrangers2k.com and got a host, I paid out of my own pockets. But as you see today, the site actually "never" was on that server because they didn't have server-side-includes. For almost two years, the site sat on mycgiserver.com (a pretty descent host). Then, I decided to go for a new domain name on pr2k2.com, the site you see right now. I haven't though cancelled the old server because they renew my domain for free :). So the reason you see ads is because we basically have two servers. We are constantly putting more info and pictures on the site, and we need more space.

If I e-mail you a question that "looks dumb", will you get mad?

Well, no. I'm understanding of the Power Ranger fan base and not everyone watches the show to get information and put it on a website. If you e-mail me, I'll be happy to answer your question (or post it on the forums).

Are you actually a fan, or just some dude that makes pictures and slaps on text.

I am a fan of the show, ever since it debuted in 1993. I buy most of the stuff that comes out, such as toys and videos (not to mention the two movies, saw each twice). I've actually never written to the cast though, which I should do at some point.

Where do you get your rumors? Who are your sources?

My rumors come from around. I myself have a source, who he and I agree that should be left anonoymous. I WILL NOT go around the net, spreading it. I will only post here. If a rumor on this site is wrong, I will see to it and will admit that I was wrong.
